Metro Bank-Solihull

Metro Bank Solihull was designed, fabricated and installed to very tight deadlines. The project comprised a main lobby and offices over two levels for the bank’s customers. The installation was carried out using a 706-spider crane and access was carried out using MEWPS.

Access was very tight on this project as 2 of the 4 sides on the perimeter of the site were ‘live’ buildings. The remaining 2 faces were along Solihull High Street. The rigging of the crane, slinging and the lifting of the steel was our top priority at all times!

As ASME took on the complete build it meant that installation areas got progressively tighter, especially when it came to the secondary glazing and stone packages. Access was only possible after 6pm. Once the High Street shops were closed, the ASME team worked late into the night.

As always at ASME, the highest standards of health and safety were evident throughout the Metro Bank Solihull Project, maintaining our record of 0 near misses and 0 accidents on site!
